Non-addictive or stimulant foods to increase energy
Most people think that the only way to “get more energy” is to use stimulant like caffeine. The truth is that you are not “getting anything” from caffeine, even if it is tea. All you are doing in stimulating your adrenal glands to have a mini stress response and pump more adrenaline and cortisol into your system. So you are stressing your body and confusing that for energy. But maybe caffeine is not your stimulant of choice…sugar is another popular one. You take in a sweet treat, your blood sugar rises, you get a sugar high followed by a crash once insulin does its job (storing that sugar now as body fat in areas where you really don’t more of that)
I don’t need to tell you again that the only way to lasting energy is nutrient dense foods, adrenal health, proper detoxification from chemical load and good rest…but does that mean there is nothing you can do while you get to work on all that? No, because there are healthy shortcuts that don’t harm you.

You can heat the almond milk and simmer if you want to try this hot. Simply add maca & cacao, whisk, then add toppings. For a cold version, simply blend it with maca and cacao powder for few seconds (add banana if desired). Then, pour the mixture into your glass. Sprinkle some cinnamon and cacao on top. Take a sip and enjoy its aroma and flavor.
