It was 2011 I was in my mid 30’s but I felt like I was at least 65 years old.
I remember waking up tired
I remember having no motivation to do most things
I remember feeling overwhelmed with all my “to dos”
I remember pushing to keep up with others and my own expectations
I remember the many coffees and the sugar cravings, the glass of wine to sleep…the vicious cycle.
I remember the uneasiness at night, wanting to crawl out of my skin & sometimes crying. So hormonal!
I remember feeling ashamed for not being able to keep it up
I remember the sleepless nights, my mind racing and my body tired
I remember the body aches, the sadness, the dull defeat, the prayers: God help me…Why am I so tired?
I remember it all. I also have overcome it all, not always and not perfectly but I got to a space where I am happy to be alive, where I have vitality and tools to be my own advocate. Almost 8 years have gone by. I am in a place where even if I go into the old overachieving mode or start an unloving habit I catch myself, and without guilt I know how to redirect it.
I did it with the breath. I did it with yoga and with meditation. I did it with food medicine. I did it repairing my gut, liver and adrenals. I did it with nature. I did it with adaptogens. I did it with science and with Spirit combined. I did it with God, with years of study, with love and without a doubt in my heart that I deserved a better life.
My largest mission in this life is to help you unlearn the habits of forcing, pushing, competing and seeing the world as an unfriendly place. Next month I will start a new chapter in my mission holding a safe space to help those experiencing burnout.
Burnout is one of those road hazards in life that high-achievers really should be keeping a close eye out for, but sadly—often because of their “I can do everything” personalities—they rarely see it coming. Because high-achievers are often so passionate about what they do, they tend to ignore the fact that they’re working exceptionally long hours, taking on exceedingly heavy work loads, and putting enormous pressure on themselves to excel—all of which make them ripe for burnout.
Burnout is a state of chronic stress that leads to physical and emotional exhaustion, cynicism and detachment
feelings of ineffectiveness and lack of accomplishment. chronic disease.
Who experiences it? working moms, care givers, busy professionals, entrepreneurs, single (or busy) moms, competitive athletes…and if not addressed it can lead to serious physical & emotional symptoms, like it did with me 8 years ago. These go from hormonal imbalance to autoimmune disorders and anxiety attacks or deep depression.
You don’t have to endure this . This is not your nature.
Next week I’m starting a pilot support group and if you live in Orlando I’d love to have you. Spots are limited to allow everyone to participate. More details HERE. Advance Registration is required and it is my hope and prayer that we can take this global…Wouldn’t you want to be a pioneer in a healing movement with me?
In the past I had to look for answers everywhere. The health system failed me and I was left to “piece meal it” all together. I felt lost and misunderstood so many times. But you don’t have to go through this. Now it’s my turn to help you. Are you going to accept your birthright? Will you say yes to my invitation to “unbusy” yourself?
Here are my current offerings Including my new group. I can’t wait to see you.
